Shipping Jobs Overseas: How Real Is the Problem?
Since 2001, the nation has lost more than 2.5 million manufacturing jobs and more than 850,000 professional service and information sector jobs. No one knows for sure how many of these jobs have been lost due to increased import competition and shifts in production abroad, since no comprehensive official data are collected. Various independent estimates indicate the number of white-collar jobs lost to shipping work overseas over the past few years is in the hundreds of thousands and millions are at risk in the next five to ten years. But the number of jobs lost need not be overwhelming in order to concern policymakers: increased ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

Why we're rolling out the red carpet for Facebook
It's not often that Seattle hosts a catered reception at City Hall for an incoming company set to hire all of 30 employees. But this is Facebook. The Palo Alto, Calif.-based social networking behemoth announced earlier this month it would open a Seattle office -- its first outpost beyond Silicon Valley -- in July. To the city, that's a badge of honor. Then apply using any job search you can (monster, career-builder, etc). Also, your resume must, absolutely must, sell your skills, talents, and abilities. WikiAnswers - What types of jobs can you get with a BA degree in ...

Most IT people I know wear many hats: setting up new computers; installing software; occasionally, some programming; administrative ("admin") tasks, like assigning and maintaining user permissions; coordinating system functions, such as EDI communications with the business systems.
