At the monthly Emanuel County BOE Board meeting on Monday, June 14, board members learned of a significant grant awarded to Swainsboro High School. SHS was among only five schools in the state to be awarded the technology grant for eTextbooks by the Georgia State Board of Education. The $1,335,184 grant is part of the Title II, Part D ARRA Competitive Grant for eTextbooks, and is designed to investigate the academic impact and potential cost savings involved in replacing traditional textbooks with eTextbooks.
