Pollution control technology

pollution control technology special research report Photo by www.spe-amerex.com
NASA Kennedy Space Center (KSC) has recently entered into an exclusive license agreement with FMC Corporation (FMC) to commercialize its Air Pollution Control Technology for the removal of nitrogen oxides from stationary combustion sources. The Air Pollution Control Technology method was developed by researchers at KSC and the University of Central Florida and utilizes the injection of hydrogen peroxide into the gas stream for rapid gas-phase oxidation of nitrogen oxide to nitrogen dioxide, which can subsequently be converted to water-soluble nitrous acid and nitric acid. The nitrogen acids may then be removed from the oxidized ...

Peugeot 207: Now Safer, Greener & More Competitive Than Ever ...
Peugeot Australia announced a number of specification improvements in late 2009 and early 2010 to its popular 207 range, designed to enhance its desirability and its value-for-money proposition. And now, these upgrades have been supplemented with reductions in the Recommended Vehicle Prices (RVPs) of all 5-door hatch, Touring and coupé-convertible models; along with the progressive introduction of Euro 5 emissions-compliant powerplants over the coming months. In late 2009 the 207 range underwent a host of specification upgrades and styling enhancements, and with three body shapes the 207 moved into pole position in its segment ... market research, surveys and trends
Isakson Votes to Prevent Backdoor Attempt to Regulate Greenhouse ...
U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., today criticized the Senate’s rejection of a bipartisan disapproval resolution to stop the Environmental Protection Agency from regulating greenhouse gas emissions under the Clean Air Act. The motion to proceed to the disapproval resolution failed by a vote of 47 to 53. “I’m extremely disappointed that many members of the Senate do not seem to understand the implications of this ruling on our economy. This backdoor attempt to regulate greenhouse gases will have dramatic negative effects on our manufacturing sector while also causing significant increases in the cost of power generation,” ... market research, surveys and trends

PGE, PacifiCorp rank high in national survey of green-power ...
The mix of renewable-energy sources in PGE's portfolio is dominated by wind. Last year, 82 percent of PGE's green power came from windmills like these in Eastern Oregon, 11 percent came from biomass and 7 percent came from geothermal. Oregon electric utility customers are putting their money where their environmental mouths are, stepping up in nation-leading numbers to buy renewable power. Nearly 73,000 of Portland General Electric 's business and residential customers -- 10.2 percent of those eligible -- are voluntarily participating in the utility's two green power programs. The debate over coal
Environmental groups have filed objections with the EPA to a proposed rule by Wisconsin’s DNR allowing power plants more leeway in how they meet federal nitrogen oxide standards. The outcome could have significant impact for people living near the state’s oldest, dirtiest power plants – like We Energies’ facility in the heart of Milwaukee. We Energies has long had a coal-fired plant in the Menomonee River Valley just below the Marquette Interchange. The plant produces both electricity and steam for Milwaukee. Completed in 1969, it uses about 2,200 tons of coal per day and 110,800 gallons of Menomonee River water ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
As Senate Defeats Challenge to Climate Finding, EPA Faces Additional Trials
Opponents of climate change regulation are attempting to dismantle the regulatory framework the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has crafted thus far under the Obama administration. The Senate unsuccessfully attempted to overturn a scientific determination in which the agency found that greenhouse gases threaten public health and welfare. However, EPA still faces court challenges by industry groups on regulations limiting emissions from both vehicles and industrial sources. On June 10, the Senate defeated a resolution ( S.J. Res. 26 ) introduced by Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) that would have canceled EPA's ... market trends, news research and surveys resources
