In Maryland, that adds up to almost 5.6 million new scrap tires each year requiring proper disposal. Scrap tire dumps pose a risk to public ...
(or tyres) that are no longer suitable for use on vehicles due to wear or irreparable damage (such as punctures). These tires are among the largest and most problematic sources of waste , due to the large volume produced and their durability. Those same characteristics which make waste tires such a problem also make them one of the most re-used waste materials, as the rubber is very resilient and can be reused in other products. Approximately one tire is discarded per person per year. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency reports 290 million scrap tires were generated in 2003. Of the 290 million, 45 million of these scrap ...

SNOW HILL – There is no money for the popular used tire recycling day, staff told the Worcester County Commissioners this week during hearings on the solid waste budget. A state tire recycling fund called the Maryland Scrap Tire Program usually pays for the tire recycling day. All new tire purchasers pay a small fee to the scrap tire program, 80 cents per each new tire purchased, at the point of sale. That fund will be applied to the Maryland state budget, county attorney Sonny Bloxom said. How To Earn $100.00 A Day Recycling Old Tires
You really can earn over $100 a day recycling old tires in almost any populated section of North America," says Washington State's Bob Stevenson. "I've been doing it for years in a number of different cities as far east as Lansing, Michigan and as far north as Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. And, contrary to what you probably believe, you don't need a truck to get into this business, the work is not heavy, and there are plenty of old tires lying around just waiting for you to pick them up!" One of the easiest ways to get the best possible gas mileage out of your car is to ...
Waste Management: need to know, scrap metal dealers, recycling ...
There are two ways to become involved in recycling. One is to be in the waste business, where people pay you to take away their waste or garbage, and you remove and recycle material from there to increase your profits. The other is to buy, or accept for free, or accept for a fee, a waste material that you can process in some way so that you can sell it at a profit. The last example is represented by scrap metal dealers, who pay for metal scrap and prepare it for re-use by other companies. My best advice is that you hunt down as many different waste and recycling companies in your area as you can find, and study what they do. If ...
